Pride Helps to Protects Borders as C-TPAT Partner

EXETER, PA – Pride Mobility Products Corporation is pleased to announce that it is a validated partner in the Customs and Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). This participation makes Pride a vital contributor in helping to secure U.S. borders and ensure the free flow of international trade.

C-TPAT, a voluntary government/business initiative by the United States Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), was established as a result of September 11th to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security.

C-TPAT recognizes that CBP can provide the highest level of cargo security only through close cooperation with the ultimate owners of the international supply chain, such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers. C-TPAT offers trade-related businesses an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism.

Pride’s role as a C-TPAT partner is to continue to ensure that appropriate security measures are maintained in a documented and verifiable format throughout our International Supply chain. Documented security procedures, annual supplier surveys, and audits will be available for CBP to verify and review periodically. Going forward, existing and new suppliers must commit to adequate security measures. Pride employees will also be educated annually on our security program.

The CBP designates Pride shipments as Security Risk Reductions, resulting in fewer cargo examinations than those afforded to non-C-TPAT importers. Pride Mobility Products Corp. is also eligible for expedited cargo processing at land borders and receive Front of the Line Inspection privileges at ports of entry should an examination be required.
