Pride Mobility Products receives leadership award from Greater Pittston YMCA

Pittston, PA – November 17, 2008 – The Greater Pittston YMCA held their 2008 Annual Meeting and Awards Reception on Wednesday, November 12, at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in the Seasons Ballroom. State Rep. Mike Carroll served as Master of Ceremonies and Attorney William F. Anzalone gave the keynote address. Four awards were presented at the event which also featured a cocktail hour and dinner reception. Laura Craig Galleries exhibited fine art by our region’s premiere artists in the ballroom.

The 2008 Corporate Leadership Award recognizes a corporation that exemplifies community service. This award was presented to Pride Mobility Products Corporation in recognition of their employee health initiative program at the YMCA and their sponsorship of the eXerpark Youth Fitness Center at the Greater Pittston YMCA. The eXerpark encourages children and teens to exercise and socialize. Pride also sponsors Beyond the Classroom which encourages children, including those with special needs, to build strong friendships both after school and in the summer.

Attorney Joseph D. Burke was presented with the Sam Milazzo Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognizes a volunteer who dedicates their time, talents and treasures to support the YMCA. Senator Raphael Musto was presented with the 2008 Leadership Award, which recognizes the leadership in our community of those who work to build strong children, strong families and a strong community. Chris West was presented with the James and Jean Yates Youth Leadership Award, which was established to recognize one youth every year that has exhibited leadership at the Greater Pittston YMCA. This award was named after James and Jean Yates for their dedication to the youth of the Pittston community.
