QUANTUM SPEAK OUT BRINGS UNDERSTANDING AND INSPIRATION TO THE COMMUNITY

Exeter, PA - July 2, 2009 - Quantum Rehab is pleased to announce the launch of Quantum Speak Out, an outreach program designed to increase disability awareness through community involvement. Quantum's efforts include presentations to schools, civic groups, and organizations as well as the continued support of disability-related charities, fund-raisers, and events.

Quantum is dedicated to supporting the success of those with disabilities in all of life's aspects. Physical disability affects over 60 million Americans in some way. Yet, for many, disability issues remain somewhat of a mystery. The goal of Quantum Speak Out is to help further promote the importance of embracing diversity in the community at large, encouraging the success of people with disabilities, and answering the public's questions by entertaining and enlightening groups with empowering messages about disability and successful living.

Quantum Speak Out allows some of the most well regarded speakers and personalities with disabilities to share their uplifting presentations of living successfully with mobility challenges to public and private schools, colleges, civic groups, business associations, and disability-related groups. Most importantly, a Quantum Speak Out speaker provides groups with the invaluable lesson that people with disabilities really are just people after all, and that the inclusion of all within society benefits everyone.

All Quantum Speak Out presentations include an in-depth explanation of the speaker's own disability and background, how they meet daily challenges, the mobility device(s) they use, a brief discussion of varying disabilities, and a question-and-answer period.

"We recognize that mobility products are only part of the disability equation," says Mark E. Smith, Consumer Research Manager. "So much of disability experience is tied to how we feel about ourselves, as those with disabilities, and the ways that others react to us. It's important to Quantum to help bridge remaining gaps, both educating and inspiring others when it comes to living with disability."

Quantum Speak Out speakers include: Mark E. Smith, who in addition to his responsibilities with Quantum administers a highly active disability website, was born with cerebral palsy and went on to obtain a master's degree and become a widely-published author and speaker; Madonna Long, Consumer Advocate, who was paralyzed as the result of a school bus accident and went on to raise a family, serve as a national advocate for disability rights, and obtain a degree in homeland security; Bryan Anderson, spokesperson for Quantum Rehab and various veterans' organizations, a veteran of Iraq who was injured in 2005 when his military Humvee encountered an explosive device, resulting in the loss of both legs and one hand.
