Bryan Anderson Joins Quantum Rehab as Spokesperson

EXETER, PA – Quantum Rehab, a division of Pride Mobility Products Corporation, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of personal mobility products, is pleased to announce that Iraq War Veteran and Q6000 power chair user, Bryan Anderson, has joined the company as a spokesperson.

In this role, Bryan will be attending Abilities Expos, ISS Clinician Shows and various consumer venues across the country. He will work closely with Pride's marketing department to promote consumer education while evaluating the latest product innovations and consumer services from Quantum Rehab. Bryan will also be working very actively with Pride's Owners Club through the interactive Web Talk message boards, a series of live on-line chats and a monthly blog on www.pridemobility.com.

Bryan is a 26-year-old native of Rolling Meadows, IL, near Chicago. He joined the Army in the spring of 2001, a few months before 9-11.

During his second tour in Iraq, on October 23, 2005, his Humvee was hit by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. Bryan lost his right leg at the hip, his left leg six inches below the hip and his left arm below the elbow. He was transported to a hospital in Baghdad where he was stabilized and awarded the Purple Heart before being returned to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. In the early days of what would be a year of rehab at Walter Reed, his parents selected the Q6000 power chair for their son. Bryan recalled, "I was in and out of consciousness at the time and the medications made it necessary for my dad to pick out a chair for me. Like any father, he wanted the best for me so, after some intense research, he went after the top of the line for me and selected the Q6000. He called it the ‘Mercedes-Benz of power chairs.'"

Pete Lancaster, owner of Patient First Medical Equipment Company, is Bryan's provider. The two met while Bryan was in rehabilitation in Walter Reed, where Pete spends a lot of his time, assisting veterans with various levels of injury and ability to find and use the appropriate mobility product. Pete said the Q6000, with its stability, speed, and overall performance, was the logical power chair choice for someone like Bryan. "At first, we did have the speed programmed down a bit, until he got used to it," Pete recalled. "But Bryan made us change that pretty quickly. He doesn't do things slowly very much."

Bryan returned home to Rolling Meadows in the summer of 2006. He is now living independently, using prosthetics and his Q6000 Power Chair. Since leaving Walter Reed, Bryan has experienced skiing and rock climbing in Colorado, water skiing and jet skiing, hiking, biking, as well as table tennis and archery at the National Wheelchair Games in Alaska.

Bryan's enthusiasm for what he is able to do with his Q6000 makes him perfect for his new role with Quantum Rehab. "I love the chair, it's been great for me. The quality is obvious and it's reliable. I don't have to waste time worrying about it." said Bryan, who demands a lot of his power chair. "It's powerful enough to keep me from getting stuck. I don't really have to give a lot of thought to what it can do or where it can go. I just go."

He appeared on the cover of the January 2007 issue of Esquire Magazine, and has received extensive media coverage including feature stories in the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Sun Times. He has also appeared on FOX News, CNN, and various other media outlets.
