"My Jazzy Air gives me confidence to keep up with my active lifestyle."

As a former Networking and Systems Engineer, Ms. Wheelchair International Yvette Pegues, MCSE/M.Ed, is no stranger to technology. After all, she was recruited by IBM right out of college. Little did she know how far adapted technology had truly progressed.
Shortly after being diagnosed in the ER with a genetic brain defect, presenting as right-side paralysis, Yvette found herself facing a life-altering brain decompression surgery that resulted in the loss of use of both legs as well as loss of Executive Function (Intellectual Disability).
As a result of her Spinal Cord Injuries, Yvette relied solely on a manual "push" wheelchair to get around. The first time she took the Jazzy Air® for a test drive, she was over-the-moon. “I didn’t realize how advanced mobility technology had become! Once I saw it, I became a believer that function and fashion could coexist!”
Prior to receiving her Jazzy Air®, Yvette struggled with day-to-day tasks. She couldn’t reach cabinets at home or grocery store shelving. She often burned food, and herself, while cooking because she couldn’t see or reach into the pot. Face-to-face social engagement with other adults was also challenging. Now, equipped with the Jazzy Air® and the elevated seat, Yvette feels so much more efficient as a mother, wife, Corporate Disability Consultant and Public Speaker.
Yvette loves everything about her Jazzy Air, from the interchangeable Pink Topaz shroud color and impeccable style, to the increased independence and peace of mind while on the go. She feels safer in parking lots and large crowds - where she may otherwise be trampled, overlooked or seemingly invisible to those around her. “It gives me confidence to keep up with my active lifestyle,” Yvette said.
When Yvette isn’t busy being a wife and a mother to her young boys in Canton, Georgia, she works as a Corporate Disability Consultant, cultivating the corporate workplace culture for diversity and disability integration. She is a published author, disability/family advocate and volunteers at many local hospitals as an Abilities Mentor. Yvette is also a proud spokesperson for Pride Mobility. Most importantly, Yvette advocates alongside the disability community and various support organizations to impact global inclusion.
With her Jazzy Air®, Yvette feels she is so much more accessible to all people. “I feel like it was created for my new normal. It makes me feel powerful as an advocate and speaker, with the option to initiate social contact from the position of a standard wheelchair user with the power to rise from behind a podium to add my voice to the conversation.” Jazzy Air® empowers!
