Pride Mobility Products Earns Best Place to Work in PA Distinction for Sixth Consecutive Year

EXETER, Pa., December 3, 2008 -- Pride Mobility Products Corp. recently earned the distinction of being named one of the Best Places to Work in PA in 2008 among large-size companies for the sixth consecutive year, ranking 40th out of 50 companies. The ranking also gives the company the distinction of being one of only two companies headquartered in Northeast PA to make this year’s list. Ann Sadusky, Pride Mobility Products’ senior vice president of Human Resources and Administration, comments that “earning this award for the sixth consecutive year is continued acknowledgement by our employees that Pride is a rewarding place to work.” According to Sadusky, Pride employee retention rates are some of the highest in the industry and the northeastern Pa. area, and credits several factors for Pride earning this distinction.

“Pride goes well beyond the basics when it comes to employee compensation and benefits, offering one of the region’s most comprehensive and cost-efficient family health insurance programs available. In addition,” continues Sadusky, “the Pride-sponsored events that place an emphasis on employees’ children, such as the Children’s Easter, Halloween, and Holiday Parties, are received with great enthusiasm, as is the Pride Employee Summer Picnic, as they provide social opportunities for employees and their children. One other factor contributing to Pride’s appeal,” suggests Sadusky, “is the company’s commitment to supporting the organizations in which our employees volunteer their time and talent, as well as other social service programs that benefit members of our community.”

Pride Mobility Products is one of the region’s largest employers and, within the first six months of 2008, has increased the workforce in the company’s Research and Development and Quality Assurance Departments alone, by 10 and 20 percent, respectively. “These employment opportunities require highly skilled, college-educated individuals and are positions that community and business leaders hope local companies can offer, particularly as a means of retaining our college-educated residents,” comments Scott Meuser, chairman and CEO of Pride Mobility. “Additionally, Pride experienced a greater than 15 percent increase in revenue during the first two quarters of 2008, due in large part to international growth, global expansion, and gain in market share.”

Meuser continues, “Our designation as one of the Best Places to Work in PA for the sixth consecutive year, combined with our consistent revenue growth and employment opportunities, is testament to the fact that Pride Mobility Products is a steadfast source of economic strength in our local and regional economy. The Best Places to Work in PA for 2008 awards program, designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, is a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Central Penn Business Journal. The two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA consists of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics, and an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

Pride Mobility Products/Quantum Rehab was recognized at the Best Places to Work in PA awards ceremony on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center.
